Are You Holistic?

In simple terms, “holistic” means dealing with or treating the whole of something, not just parts, and considering all interconnected aspects. Holistic approaches emphasize understanding and addressing the entire system or situation, rather than focusing solely on individual components.

Why do I ask if you are holistic?

In the past, I and many others, recommended certain nutritional supplements without really knowing if the individual actually needed the supplement. For example, Noni juice‘s zeitgeist moment, or peak popularity, occurred in the late 1990s and early 2000s, coinciding with its commercial marketing as a dietary supplement and the rise of the “natural health” trend. Many individuals touted the wonders of Noni juice. Is there anything wrong with Noni juice? No! But is it for everyone?

Another piece of advice I and many others have given concerns a good nights sleep. Can’t sleep? Take Melatonin. I have tried it and it does not work for me. What now?

There’s nothing inherently wrong with sharing our knowledge, especially if it’s genuine and you’re not trying to mislead anyone. Saying “you should try this nutritional supplement, it has helped me” is just an opinion based on your own results, and people do that all the time—think of it like recommending a good restaurant or a movie. The catch is, it’s anecdotal; what works for you might not work for someone else because bodies, lifestyles, and needs differ.

Statements like the example above get really dicey if you’re implying it’s a universal fix without evidence—like claiming it cures diseases or works for everyone—since that could mislead people who don’t know better. It’s fine, just not scientific. People should take it for what it is: your story, not a prescription.

How then can I help others?

You have at your disposal a powerful tool in the AO Scan [*] to assess the needs of you and your clients.

The results of these scans can help identify those areas where you or your clients may need assistance, make the proper lifestyle changes to optimize your health, and reach a state of harmony and balance. This does not mean that you cannot use Bach Flowers, essential oils, chiropractic, massage therapy, moderate exercise, or other modalities to optimize your health. Make decisions based on facts and not opinion. You also have muscle testing [], and sway testing [§], available to see if the nutritional supplement is needed by the body.

My wife has been getting treatments at The Vitalist’s Academy of Biomagnetic Adjustment []. One thing that they have her do is journaling. What a great way to see what is happening to your health on a daily basis, and identify patterns or trends that may be impacting your symptoms and how you feel, track your progress towards health goals, and help evaluate the effectiveness of your lifestyle changes.

There are so many foods that we take into our bodies that are harmful, and there are many that we could take in that are helpful. Many nutritionists recommend healthy food choices that will not work against the good that you are trying to accomplish using AO Scan technology [*] and other natural means to improve health.

If you don’t fix the bad eating habits causing your health problems,
they’ll just keep coming back. You need to change what you eat!

Conclusion

When tackling a health problem, employing diversified methods can significantly enhance the likelihood of finding an effective path to better health. By integrating various approaches, individuals can address the issue from multiple angles. This strategy not only broadens the perspective but also mitigates the limitations inherent in relying on a single technique.

[‡] Muscle testing, also known as Applied Kinesiology (AK) or manual muscle testing (MMT), is a technique used to assess the body’s response to various stimuli, not necessarily muscle strength, by applying pressure to specific muscles and observing their reaction. Muscle testing is a method some use to figure out if a nutritional supplement—or anything else—is “needed” by the body. You hold the supplement (or think about it) while someone tests your muscle strength, usually by pushing down on an outstretched arm. If your muscle stays strong, the supplement is said to be good for you; if it weakens, your body doesn’t want it. It’s based on the notion that your body subconsciously knows what’s best and communicates through muscle responses.

[§] Sway testing is a self-administered technique used to tap into the body’s subconscious or energy system to make decisions or assess compatibility (e.g., with foods, emotions, or choices). In this method, a person stands upright and relaxed, posing a yes-or-no question or statement (e.g., “Is this food good for me?”) while holding an object or focusing on a thought. The body’s natural response is observed: swaying forward typically indicates a “yes” (positive alignment), while swaying backward suggests a “no” (negative alignment). This practice is rooted in the idea that the body’s energy or nervous system reacts to external stimuli, reflecting intuitive or subconscious knowledge.

[♯] The science of biomagnetics is very simple. Using proper magnetic fields, the electrical condition of the specific problem area can be efficiently adjusted into a corrected normal functioning condition; thereby forcing the biochemical activity of the cells to assume a normal high energy, healthy circuiting, resulting in the body’s functions operating properly, causing a return to normal health (homeostasis). The magnet simply puts the proper charge into the body so it has the highest energy of self-healing. The problem in biomagnetic health is that people in general do not understand the important difference in poles of the magnets. The North Pole gives one effect and the South Pole gives another. The North Pole creates a negative ion state or what is observed as a counter-clockwise electron spin. This is the healthy state of cell tissue. The South Pole of the magnet creates an unhealthy positive ion state. Biomagnetics is not pseudo-science. It is a science with a background of over 2,000 years worth of experimentation and use.
